More about the faces behind PIANNA YARNS
Initially embarking on a career as a Project Accountant within the electric sector, I (Annamarie) have been immersed in the world of crochet and knitting from the tender age of ten. Leisure time finds me joyfully crafting shawls, socks, and sweaters. Presently, I am a recognized crochet designer, specializing in blankets, tablecloths, and a variety of home décor creations.
Designing cozy blankets and elegant throws is not just a hobby but a fervent passion of mine. This new chapter in my life began in January 2016, following the end of my previous job. The Queen Mandala, my inaugural design, has since garnered global participation and admiration.
After almost seven years of incorporating South African hand-dyed natural yarns into my designs, I sought to infuse my work with a fresh palette, leading to the inception of Pianna Yarns.
My partner, Pieter, plays an integral role in the production process, ensuring each step meets our high standards.
Crochet, in my eyes, transcends a mere craft; it is a profound art form. The act of crocheting allows one to engage with this artistry, especially when the vibrant spectrum of colors comes into play. Crafting a throw becomes a personal odyssey, one that I relish deeply. I invite you to join me in this creative venture, hoping you too will find the same solace and joy in each stitch.
