There was a stage during this journey where it truly felt like a nightmare‑night project! The design is by Svetlana Rogatykh, and she uses a very unique mosaic crochet technique that was completely new to me. It involves trebles worked to both the left and the right, as well as double crochet and treble‑together stitches, again to the left and right.

This technique pushed me far outside my comfort zone. Every row was a challenge, and the entire project demanded full concentration. The design itself is next level—even for me, as the designer of several mosaic crochet patterns. It definitely tested my skills and patience, but in the best possible way.

For this project, I used Pianna Yarns. The “white” color is Ivory from the SOLOIST collection. The background yarn was hand‑dyed by me as a one‑of‑a‑kind specifically for this piece—and I had just enough! I managed to complete the project using exactly 14 balls of Pianna Yarns DUO One of a Kind, with nothing left to spare.

I finished the piece using the envelope border method, adding a small custom design detail to the front. Once everything was complete, I decided this item would be used as a carpet—purely decorative, with no feet on it at all.

You can find the design in Ravelry.

You can shop all the yarns used in this project from the online shop.
